Man arrested in connection to Modesto motel homicide | Crime

MODESTO, CA - A man was arrested in connection to a Tuesday afternoon homicide in Modesto after he turned himself into police.

Jose Angel Cervantes, 22, of Modesto, while police were still at the Shiva's Motel on the 700 block of South 9 th Street, Sgt. Anthony Bejaran said.

Police responded to a shots fired call at the motel. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man dead on the ground in the parking lot, Bejaran said.

Cervantes was interviewed and then arrested for homicide.

Bejaran said detectives continue to work on leads and interview witnesses at the scene.
